In 2019, Austin FC reached an agreement with the city to begin construction of the $260 million, 20,500-seat stadium on 24 acres of long-vacant land that had been extensively remediated. The stadium was 100% privately funded with plans to eventually transfer the rights back to the city. But for now, it’s a world-class stadium that wows just about every soccer fan who sees it — and they’re lined up waiting to get in.
